Fortunately, other than refractive disorders such as nearsightedness, astigmatism, and farsightedness, few things ever go wrong with ones eyes.

There are, however, many things that can go wrong, usually as we grow older. Some of the conditions that can develop do so unnoticed until it is too late and the disease or condition is far advanced. Fortunately, many conditions are readily noticed and can be brought to the attention of an ophthalmologist early on.
